A Letter to Volunteers
Dear Volunteer,
Deciding to volunteer abroad is a big decision. The choices you make about a program and location are very important because they create the setting for your overall experience. Thank you for considering Travel Alive. No matter which program you choose we will do all that we can to make this a rewarding and memorable experience for you.
Travel Alive programs are a result of partnerships with people in regions of the world where you and other volunteers provide immediate and tangible improvements to local conditions. Everything you do has an impact. Just by being there you employ and support local program staff. In a town like Ocotal, Nicaragua with greater than 40% unemployment, every new job is important. You are also providing a home-stay family with extra income, and as a volunteer you touch the lives of the most needy – children, seniors, sick, and poor.
We are proud to offer experiential opportunities in some of the most naturally beautiful locations on earth. As your resource we will help you prepare for your program, support you abroad, and follow up with you after your trip. We are dedicated to making sure that your time abroad is an exceptional experience for you and for the people whose lives you will touch in other countries.
Our experienced staff is available to answer all of your questions. Call or email us and I promise that we will provide personal attention to all of your requests. Every program is unique, but this is a big commitment and we want to make sure you make your decision with the best information available about travel, safety, living conditions, and what to expect.
On behalf of the Travel Alive staff, our partners, and families abroad, I thank you again for considering our program.
Sincerely,
Tom LeaMond
