Adventure, Language & International Volunteer Exchange

Stay Active - Keep in Touch

We want to hear about your adventure with Travel Alive!

As a Travel Alive Alumnus you are part a growing family of adventurous travelers who experience the world as a member of the community rather than a disconnected visitor. Your international volunteering experience can be an inspiration to others and on our Alumni Network web pages we encourage you to share your stories and photos. We also hope that you will use this space to stay in touch with us and fellow Travel Alive Alumni. We are also looking for inspired Alumni to join our team through the opportunities listed below:

Submit a story

If you enjoy writing send us an account of an unforgettable experience you had as an international volunteer or Spanish student and we may post it on our Alumni Network webpage! Submit as many written experiences as you would like to Travel Alive’s Alumni Network. Your first-hand experience will not only be shared with other Travel Alive Alumni but may give future volunteers an idea of what they can expect through international volunteer travel.

Submit a photo

Pictures speak volumes. Enter a favorite photo from your volunteer experience for display on the alumni page. Each month we will highlight an alumni submitted photo on our homepage! If we choose your photo we will send you a Travel Alive memento. Submit your photos to Travel Alive’s Alumni Network.

Program feedback

Your feedback is extremely important to us. We use your comments to make program improvements and to develop new activities. We want your opinion whenever it is convenient for you and as many times as you would like to give it. Please send us your thoughts by filling out our feedback form. We want to hear from you!

Help us keep in contact with you

Let us know if you have moved, changed your email address, or phone number. Please send us your new contact information, thank you.

Opportunities for Travel Alive Alumni

Would you like to become more involved with Travel Alive and volunteer travel in Nicaragua and Ecuador? We have needs that rely on your experience as an international traveler. The following opportunities are available to qualified Travel Alive Alumni:

  • Travel Alive Program Reference
  • We may have already asked you to join our Travel Alive Alumni Network as a program reference. Before choosing to participate in one of our programs some people like to speak with a Travel Alive alumni to ask them about their personal experience while participating in one of our programs. If you are comfortable speaking with potential participants by phone or email please consider being a program reference and send us your contact information to register. And thank you for your continued support!

  • In-Country Program Representative
  • Program representatives may work with in-country coordinators to help manage housing, volunteer projects, and social events. They may volunteer as an English teacher for home-stay families and program staff or work directly with other participants. Travel Alive will pay program and travel fees for in-country program representatives. Additional travel fees and personal expenses are not covered. If you are interested in being considered for the role of an in-country program representative, please send us your contact information.

  • Campus or Community Speaker
  • When we come to your city to recruit for our international programs it is helpful to have Travel Alive Alumni share their experiences. At your school or a community location you may join a Travel Alive representative who will speak briefly about our programs and then let you share your story and then answer questions together from potential participants. If you are interested in being considered as a campus or community speaker for Travel Alive, please send us your contact information.

  • Campus or Community Recruiter
  • You can use your Travel Alive experience to get others excited about volunteering abroad. We know that Travel Alive Alumni are the best representatives for our international programs. If you would like to recruit participants in your home-town, on your college campus, at churches and social organizations, we have incentives for you including credit towards future programs. If you are interested in learning more about campus or community recruiting, please send us your contact information.
