International Volunteering offers travelers an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to live, work, and study in another culture experiencing life from the viewpoint of local residents and new found friends.
With Travel Alive you will live in a Latin American community, you can study with native teachers to improve Spanish language and communication skills, and give back to a deserving community as a volunteer. We are excited to host a diverse range of participants including students, professionals, seniors, groups, and families all looking for adventure while at the same time hoping to make a difference in the lives of others!
Our Nicaragua program combines language study, volunteering, and cultural immersion in Ocotal, Nicaragua, located in the north-central coffee growing region of Nicaragua.
Our Ecuador program is more focused on the volunteer and cultural immersion experience, but offers intensive language study for those who feel they need it, followed by volunteer placement in diverse regions of Ecuador.

Study Spanish and Culture – In Nicaragua language and cultural study are an integral part of the program, in Ecuador you can begin with an intensive Spanish program to prepare for volunteer service throughout Ecuador. In either program you will learn from hands-on experience as part of the community!
Live with a local family - Proud of their community, home-stay families welcome you into their homes and help you adjust to your new environment.
Share Culture - Experience everyday life in Latin American communities, learn their history from the locals’ point-of view, and explore parts of the world rich in natural beauty that are not yet altered by commercial tourism.
